Welcome
Welcome to our website. It is our sincere desire that you would look through it and hopefully see yourself, possibly, as part of our family. Emerson Bible Church (EBC) is a biblically based, non-denominational church, accountable to the scriptures and to God. We would love the opportunity to help you grow in your faith by helping you develop a personal relationship with God. Our church community consists of people who have committed their lives to Jesus Christ as Lord and savior, as well as people who still seek to find fulfillment in Him. All are welcome to come in and hear God’s word. We are a small church with a great big heart and a desire to serve God and our community in anyway possible. We offer various programs for all age groups and seek to meet the individual needs of those who attend. At every worship service, a portion of scripture is studied and its implications for life today is uncovered. Hearing the message of faith, hope and love that the gospel brings is a prime benefit for those attending EBC. That, along with our worship ministry which combines contemporary music with gospel and traditional hymns make for a wondeful and edifying time together. We would love for you to stop by and visit with us. Pastor Art … more
Beliefs
At EBC we belief in the entire Word of God from Genesis to Revelation and every book in between. This means that we will not water down the Gospel nor will we compromise the message of God. 1. The Bible (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)We believe in God’s verbal inspiration of all the Scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments, and that they are the infallible final authority in faith and life. 2. God (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, Luke 3:22) We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 3. Deity of Jesus Christ (Galatians 4:4-5, Colossians 2:9) We believe in the virgin birth of Christ, and that He is true God and true Man. 4. The Atonement–Christ’s death for our sins (Hebrews 9:12, Galatians 3:13-14) We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, and that with His shed blood He obtained for us an eternal redemption. 5. The Resurrection of Christ (Acts 2:29-31, 1 Peter 3:18-20) We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and in His present life there as our high priest and advocate. 6. Salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9, John 1:12) We believe that salvation is the free gift of God, entirely apart from works and that it is possessed by all who have by faith received the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. 7. The Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13-14) We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, a divine person, and that He indwells all believers. We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the sovereign work of God that it occurs at the moment of conversion, whereby the Holy Spirit places the believer in the Body of Christ. 8. Christ’s Return (Matthew 24:42, Matthew 25:13) We believe in the personal, imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9. Judgment (1 Corinthians 15:12-32, Revelation 20:11-15) We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the … more
Our History
Emerson Bible Church has a rich history going back over 100 years. In 1897, the town of Etna, now known as Emerson, did not contain a church or Sunday School and on September 1897, a group of concerned Christians started the very first Sunday School. A few years later, on November 12, 1900, the first church service was held in the same building that is used today. The educational/gym building located right next to the church was built and consequently dedicated on January 10, 1971. The vision, and desire, for the Ed Building continues to be the same as that of those concern Christians in 1897 and that is to reach the community for the glory of God. … more
